Lent 2025 Small Groups
The Words of Jesus at the Last Supper
Non-believers continue to call Christians out for not being very much like Jesus. And we live in a country where the words of Jesus are called “liberal talking points” by some in the American church.
This winter, we embraced Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7) in our small groups. Let’s keep going, diving into Jesus’ words to his followers at the Last Supper, before his death and resurrection. ALL of scripture is inspired by God, but it seems especially important for us to ground ourselves in the spoken words of Jesus. This will be our study for Lent: John chapters 14-17.
We’ll approach each passage Lectio Divina style—reading three times, focusing on words and phrases that stand out to us, responding in sharing and prayer.
